Good Companion Bakery Open House

Boundbrook Farm/Good Companion Bakery and Addison County’s online farmers’ market, Addisoncounty.Locallygrown.Net, are sponsoring an Open House and Farm Breakfast from 9:30 to noon on Sunday, July 27. Eric and Erica Andrus’ animal powered farm is home to a wood fired brick oven and bakery, chickens, geese, sheep, cows and draft horses. Eric Andrus will demonstrate horse powered farm activities and discuss horse drawn techniques. Visitors will be able to tour the bakery and farm. A superb localvore breakfast will be served from 10-11 a.m. during the open house. Chef Andrus will cook up eggs and sausage from the farm. Croissants, cinnamon rolls and bread from the farm’s Good Companion Bakery, along with local butter and jams, are on the menu, all for a suggested donation of $5. Breakfast will be served rain or shine. Call 877 1396 for directions. Good Companion breads and pastries are available at Middlebury, Bristol and Hinesburg farmers’ markets and through the online farmers’ market, Addisoncounty.Locallygrown.Net.

Our First Field Day/Open House

Addison County On Line Market and Singing Cedars are sponsoring a Farm Visit/Open House Sunday, June 22 from 2-5 p.m. at Singing Cedars Farmstead in Orwell. Anyone interested in seeing local food production first hand will enjoy a tour of Singing Cedars vegetable garden, meet the cows, chickens and baby turkeys, be able to check out the tomato greenhouses and finish up with a hike around the farm on the shore of Lake Champlain.
